Residents are being reminded of changes to services provided by Folkestone & Hythe District Council over the festive period.
Opening hours
Closed from Saturday 24 December and reopen on Tuesday 3 January, but most council services can be accessed 24/7 by visiting folkestone-hythe.gov.uk.
Please call 01303 221888 if you need to contact us in an emergency outside of business hours.
Information about Hythe Swimming Pool’s opening hours can be found on the Christmas section of our website.
Waste collections
Meanwhile, waste crews will not be working on Boxing Day – meaning collections will take place 24 hours later than usual for a week.
Collections return to normal on Monday 2 January. Residents are encouraged to recycle as much as they possibly can – advice can be found on the website.

Garden waste
Garden waste collections are taking their usual break for Christmas. The last collection will be on Friday 23 December and the service will resume on Monday 9 January.
Real Christmas tree recycling
If you are a garden waste customer you can leave your real Christmas tree next to your brown lidded bin when collections commence on Monday 9 January.
If you are not a garden waste customer, visit the website from Tuesday 3 January for more details about how to request a real Christmas tree collection.
