A suspect is to appear in court after officers seized more than 130 deals of cocaine and cannabis in Gravesend.


At around 11.50am on Thursday 2 February 2023, a man riding a moped in Whitehill Road lost control of the vehicle after he passed a police patrol. The bike was abandoned and the rider left the scene on foot into Sun Lane.


He was detained in a rear garden where it is alleged one of the officers was assaulted. The constables also seized 97 bags of cannabis, 36 bags of cocaine and a quantity of cash.

A man from Northfleet was later charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing cannabis with intent to supply, assaulting an officer in the execution of his duty and assaulting an emergency worker.

He was also charged with forging a registration mark. The 20-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 3 February.
