Investigators have swiftly made an arrest following a reported robbery in Gravesend.

On Monday 20 February 2023, a man in his 20s was socialising in the town centre when he met a group of strangers.

He went along with them to a location near Harmer Street where it is alleged he was threatened by a man with a knife.

The victim gave up his phone which was reported to have been used to transfer cash from his bank account, before it was returned to him.

Officers from the Kent Crime Squad arrested a man on the following day. They also seized 21 wraps of suspected heroin and cocaine.

The 19-year-old man, of no fixed address, was later charged with robbery, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of heroin with intent to supply.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 February, where was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 23 March.
