Folkestone residents are reminded to ensure their vehicles are locked and secure following incidents of theft in the town.

In the early hours of Friday 3 March 2023, a pair of shoes were stolen from a car in Coniston Road.

Then, on Wednesday 8 March, cash was stolen from two further cars, one in Alder Road and another in William Avenue.

Advice

Sergeant Sarah Williams, of Folkestone’s Victim Based Crime Team, said: ‘I urge vehicle owners to remove anything of value from their cars or vans overnight and leave nothing on show.

‘Ensure all doors are locked and windows are fully closed. If possible park in a garage, a well-lit secure car park or an area covered by CCTV.’

Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/41879/23.
