This year’s litter-picking campaign, from 17 March to 2 April, brings together individuals, community organisations, businesses and councils to get litter picking and give our area a spring clean boost.
The Dover & Deal MP also praised the work of Dover District Council (DDC) leader Cllr Trevor Bartlett for DDC winning the prestigious Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean Award for their campaign to tackle litter.
Natalie Elphicke MP said: “Litter louts make our area look less attractive for us all. Discarded litter can be harmful to wildlife too. Keeping Britain Tidy is something all of us can help with.
“I got some good litter picking tips from my favourite Womble in Parliament. Let’s all release our inner Womble and give Dover, Deal and the villages a big Spring Clean!”
The Great British Spring Clean, now in its eighth year, saw people up and down the country come together last year to clean up nearly half a million bags of litter.
