Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott and MP Natalie Elphicke

Dover & Deal MP Natalie Elphicke has joined forces with the Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Scott to tackle anti-social behaviour within Dover, Deal and affected local villages. The move follows complaints made at her regular MP surgeries about incidents of anti-social behaviour across the area.

Fly-tipping and the misuse of off-road motorbikes have caused particular concern in local villages. Meanwhile under-age drinking and loutish behaviour by groups of young people have been raised in both Deal and Dover towns.

To help focus efforts to deal with anti-social behaviour, Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott has launched an anti-social behaviour survey to gather views on the issues facing Dover, Deal and local villages.

Natalie Elphicke is encouraging residents to complete the survey to ensure issues that most concern residents get the attention and resources they deserve.

Natalie Elphicke MP said: “Anti-social behaviour is not acceptable. I have contacted local police outlining my concerns and called for greater joint working with Kent Police and the Dover District Council community team to tackle the isolated incidents of anti-social behaviour that rightly cause annoyance and concern. This is as much in our villages as in the towns. In our villages misuse of off-road motorbikes and fly-tipping have caused a lot of concern.

“The Police and Crime Commissioner is working with me to tackle anti-social behaviour. This survey is important to make sure that concerns are getting the right attention and resources. I encourage everyone interested in this matter to take a few minutes to complete the survey to continue to improve our lovely areas.”
