Outside the Library on Grace Hill, families and their children joined the demo with banners, whilst the families conducted reading, colouring and musical sessions to highlight what they consider they are missing.

Many highlighted the on-going lack of access to books, as some are still unable to travel to other libraries, the Lady Sassoon gallery and the much valued Heritage collection which is the largest such in Kent.

In the town centre a Save Folkestone Library stall was set-up with people lining up to sign the paper version of the petition, take stickers and flyers to support the campaign. A  nearby Labour party local elections stall also included a form for people to fill in with their views on the Library and loss of service.

Further demonstrations, campaigning, and other events, are being planned.
