A stolen motorbike has been tracked with the help of a police drone operator.

Kent Police was contacted on the evening of Friday 21 April 2023 and it was reported that a motorbike had been stolen from a public car park in Canterbury.

Using the vehicle’s tracking device, and with the help of a Kent Police drone, the motorbike was later found in a location near Littlebourne Road.

Man arrested

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Inspector Paul Stoner, of Canterbury Community Safety Unit, said: ‘This incident shows the importance of fitting vehicles with tracking devices. In this case, it allowed us to recover the motorbike just over an hour after it was reported stolen.

‘Drones are also an increasingly useful tool for officers, allowing us to search a larger area than we might otherwise be able to cover.’
