A suspect has been charged after two people were injured in Maidstone. Kent Police was called at 2.40am on Saturday 6 May 2023, to a report of a disturbance in Rose Yard.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to hospital with cuts to his face. A second man later came forward and alleged he was also assaulted during the incident.

Patrols arrested two suspects and they were taken into custody. A 24-year-old man from Reading, Berkshire was later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. He appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 8 May, where he was remanded to a hearing at the same court on 5 June.

A 23-year-old man from West Kilburn, Greater London, who was also arrested on suspicion of assault, was bailed to return to the police station on 6 August, pending further investigation.
