Detectives investigating an assault on a woman near Greatstone are appealing for witnesses. The incident happened in a woodland area at the end of Dunes Road, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday 13 May 2023.

The victim was walking along a footpath, when it is reported a man she did not know approached and assaulted her. The woman ran from the scene and the police were alerted.

She has been treated in hospital for head injury.

Description

The man is described as being white, in his early 20s, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall, of skinny build and with light brown hair. He was wearing glasses with thin frames, a red and black checked shirt and light blue jeans.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Finnis, said: ‘This was a very distressing incident for the victim and residents will notice an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are completed.

‘We are appealing for anybody who saw a man of this description or anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact us.

‘Officers are also asking residents with private CCTV, doorbell cameras and drivers with dashcam to check for any relevant footage.’
