Suspected class A drugs and cash have been seized after town centre officers proactively stopped a teenager acting suspiciously in Chatham.
Officers were on a routine patrol on Monday 15 May 2023 when they saw a teenage boy attempt to hide from them. Police searched the area and he was arrested at around 11.15am in Best Street.
Upon searching him officers found him in possession of two mobile phones, money and 45 wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin.
As a result officers arrested the 16-year-old boy on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
A Section 18 search warrant was later carried out at an address in Strood and officers found an extendable style baton and the teenager was further arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
The teenager has been bailed until Sunday 6 August while further enquiries are carried out.
