A man has appeared in court after being charged by detectives investigating an incident in Greatstone.
A woman who was walking along a footpath in a woodland area at the end of Dunes Road, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday 13 May 2023, was assaulted by a stranger.
The victim ran from the scene and police were alerted. She later attended hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, a man has been charged with attempted rape.
The 18-year-old, from New Romney, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 19 May and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 19 June.
