Former military man accepts top job on Folkestone Town Council

Stephen Nash

Following the recent retirement of the previous Town Clerk after 10 years of service, the Town Council will be welcoming Stephen Nash as the new Town Clerk from 1 June 2023.

Stephen previously served in the military and has over 20 years of local government experience, having worked for Town and Parish councils across the country as Town Clerk/CEO.

The Town Mayor of Folkestone, Councillor Nicola Keen, said “I am pleased that Stephen accepted and will be working with our team of dedicated officers here at Folkestone Town Council. I feel sure that he will further enhance the wealth of experience and dedication that we have within our staff team and I look forward to following the ambitions that he has for Folkestone come to fruition.”

Stephen said: “I have always had a soft spot for Folkestone having spent a lot of time here with the military, although that was some time ago. More recently I have enjoyed popping down to enjoy the fish restaurants and accommodation. I am looking forward to finding out more about the town and helping make improvements in a number of areas with staff, councillors and local residents.”
