A second man has appeared in court charged with carrying out a serious assault in Folkestone.

Kent Police was called at 8.45pm on Friday 5 May 2023 following a report a man had been assaulted on steps leading off Bradstone Avenue.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the man was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury consistent with a stab wound. He has since been discharged.

Following enquiries by East Kent CID, a 46-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 20 May and was bailed to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 19 June.

Previously, a 30-year-old man appeared before the same court on Monday 8 May, charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, in relation to the same incident, and assaulting an emergency worker. He was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on a date in June.
