A man has received swift justice after admitting multiple thefts at the same Gillingham shop.

Between 19 April and 17 May 2023Ashleigh Webb stole items on five occasions from Tesco in Pier Road.

Each time he placed large amounts of coffee and confectionary in shopping bags or under his coat, and left without paying.

Jailed

Webb, from Gillingham was arrested on Thursday 25 May and charged with five thefts with a total value of £240.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty during his first hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 26 May. He was immediately sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
