CCTV released by Kent Police –

Officers investigating an altercation in Dartford have released a CCTV image after reports one person involved may have possessed a weapon.

At 6.55pm on Wednesday 24 May 2023, Kent Police was called to an argument in William Mundy Way, involving two people on a motorbike and another road user.

A member of the public described seeing the pillion passenger take an item from a bag they thought may have been a handgun, before all the parties left the scene.

Officers attended the area and completed a search, assisted by a police helicopter. Nobody was arrested and enquiries are underway into the circumstances.

Detective Inspector Peter Smith, from North Division CID, said: ‘We have been investigating this incident and are now able to release a CCTV image of two people officers would like to speak to.

‘Unfortunately their faces cannot be seen but we want to hear from anyone who might recognise their clothing or the bike they are riding.

‘Anybody who recognises them should contact our appeal line. Drivers with dashcam are also urged to check for relevant footage.’

Witnesses or anyone with information is urged to call 01474 366149 quoting 24-1289. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or complete their online form.
