Kent Police was called on the evening of Saturday 3 June 2023 to a report that a boy had been approached in Cheriton and got into a vehicle to assist with directions to a location before the incident took place.
Officers attended and, following enquiries, made an arrest just over an hour later.
A 72-year-old man from Lydd, was charged the following day with sexually touching a boy, and breaching a sexual risk order.
He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 6 June where he was remanded in custody. The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 10 July.
