A vehicle believed to be involved in drug trafficking was stopped by police in Gillingham and searched.

The incident happened on Monday 5 June 2023 at 1.00pm in Goudhurst Road, where officers from Medway’s Community Policing Team were on a proactive patrol.

They found several wraps of suspected cocaine and a sum of money in the vehicle. Kent Police dog Dougal helped with the search.

The driver, a man in his 40s, and the passenger, a man in his 20s, both from Gillingham, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

The driver also faced charges of driving without a licence or insurance. The passenger was additionally suspected of allowing another person to drive without insurance.

They have been bailed until 31 August while investigations continue.
