A driver who thought he could hide from officers following a collision didn’t bank on Police Dog Coty being called to the scene.
Officers attended a report of a collision on Malcolm Sargent Road, Ashford at 7.11am on Saturday 10 June 2023, but the driver, who they suspected of being over the drink drive limit, was not at the scene.

PD Coty picked up the scent and led her handler through deep hedgerow and across a river, searching for almost an hour before locating the suspect among long reeds.
He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following a collision and driving while over the prescribed limit.
The 27-year-old from Dover has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
