A suspected drug dealer has appeared in court following arrests by proactive patrols in Whitstable.

On Thursday 8 June 2023, officers detained a 23-year-old man in Windmill Road and seized a quantity of cannabis, suspected cocaine and cash from his vehicle.

Police officers then searched a property in Faversham and seized further amounts of cocaine and more cash.

As the officers commenced the search, a second man who left the address in a van, was subsequently arrested and another search recovered a knife. It is alleged the van was driven dangerously after officers signaled it to stop. It is further alleged that an officer was assaulted after the vehicle came to a halt.

A Faversham man was later charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possessing a bladed weapon, dangerous driving, and assaulting an emergency worker.

The 25-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 10 June where he was bailed to a further hearing on Monday 10 July at Canterbury Crown Court.
