A suspect is to appear in court charged in connection with two racially-aggravated assaults in Herne Bay.
Kent Police were called to the beach near St George’s Terrace, following a report two people had been assaulted.
Officers, including firearms officers, were called to the scene at around 12.45am on Monday 26 June 2023.
Two men, who sustained injuries not believed to be serious, were treated at the scene by the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
A man aged 47 from Herne Bay, was charged on Tuesday 27 June with possessing an imitation firearm with intent (a BB gun), two counts of racially-aggravated assault, possessing a bladed article (kitchen knife) in a public place and possession of a knuckleduster.
He was due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 27 June.
