Ramsgate man charged with rape

A Ramsgate man is to appear in court charged with rape.

A 25-year-old Ramsgate man was arrested on Friday 23 June in connection with offences reported to have taken place between January and March 2023 in Chatham.

He was subsequently charged with two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and two counts of assault. He was also charged with controlling and coercive behaviour and breach of a restraining order.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 24 June where he was remanded in custody.

The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday 24 July.
