In the early hours of Friday 30 June 2023, patrols were advised by CCTV operators that a victim had allegedly been punched repeatedly in Calverley Road.
Response officers made a swift arrest following a report a man had been assaulted in in Tunbridge Wells.
He had suffered facial injuries and within minutes officers arrested a suspect in Mount Pleasant Road.
The constables also seized a set of van keys that had been reported stolen earlier on the same day.
A 16-year-old boy from Staplehurst was later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and handing stolen property.
The teenager appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 1 July. He was remanded to a hearing at Medway Youth Court on Thursday 6 July.
