Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a car alight in Cannon Street, in Lydd, Romney Marsh shortly before 11pm yesterday evening (3 July)
Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, which had spread to a van parked nearby causing heat damage to the windows of a commercial premises.
Firefighters were also called to reports of a second vehicle alight in Rype Close, in Lydd, Romney Marsh.
One fire engine attended, and firefighters extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.
No injuries were reported at either incident and it’s believed both fires were started deliberately.
