Two men have been accused of robbery after swift intervention by police in Folkestone.

Kent Police received a report around 10.15am on Tuesday 11 July 2023 regarding the theft of a bag containing money and documents on The Leas.

Members of Folkestone’s Local Policing Team, Neighbourhood Task Force, and Beat Team promptly responded, conducting a search with assistance from a police dog and a drone.

Within thirty minutes of the initial call, two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Folkestone CID has formally charged a man aged 39, from Ramsgate, and a 30-year-old man from Dover, with robbery.

Both individuals were scheduled to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 12 July.

Kent Police is actively prioritising the combat against violent crime as part of its ongoing Safer Summer initiative.
