Two new low-carbon council homes have been built by Dover District Council (DDC) ready for families to move in.
The semi-detached, three-bed homes are in Foxborough Close in Woodnesborough and have been packed with green technology, resulting in a 75% reduction in carbon emissions.
Both have solar panels and triple glazing, as well as air source heat pumps which take the warmth from the air outside and use it to heat the properties.
They were constructed by Kent-based Breem Construction on behalf of DDC on an existing housing estate.

The homes will be let at affordable rent and will contribute to the district’s increasing number of high-quality council homes.
Last week, DDC’s new leadership revealed its pledge to build 200 council homes a year across the district to provide local people with more affordable housing.
Cllr Pam Brivio, cabinet member for housing, said: “This was unused land on an existing estate and we are pleased it has been used to create more affordable homes.
“With the significant rise in the cost of living and sky-high rents it is crucial that we as a council are providing good quality homes at rents people can afford.
“We are also making sure our homes are being built with green technology to increase energy efficiency and contribute to our net zero carbon target.”

A spokesman for Breem Construction said: “We are delighted to deliver the two new properties in Foxborough Close, Woodnesborough, on behalf of Dover District Council.
“It has been extremely rewarding working with DDC and their team to deliver the three-bed homes, which incorporate solar PV panels and air source heat pumps. The properties achieved EPC ratings of A.
“Breem Construction acted as main contractor and provided contractors designs for elements of the project. Our construction team is proud of our role in the project, providing more sustainable family homes for local people.”
