A man suspected of stealing lead and air conditioning equipment from two businesses in Longfield and Maidstone was found hiding in a bush near Faversham by a police dog and her handler.
The man had been driving a car that was linked to the thefts, which took place on Monday 17 July 2023, and was spotted by Kent Police officers near the Medway service station on the M2 on Wednesday 19 July at around 1.30pm.
He abandoned the car and ran across the motorway, but PD Elsa and her handler tracked him down in Provender Lane after a two-hour search.
The 21-year-old man from Longfield was arrested on suspicion of theft and failing to stop for police, and remained in custody.
