Police have arrested a man in his 60s and confiscated cannabis plants and suspected class A drugs from two properties in Canterbury.
The operation was triggered by the discovery of a bag containing cannabis and drug-related items in the Sturry Road area on Wednesday 26 July 2023.
Officers collected the bag and conducted further investigations, which led them to search a property in the Sturry Road area and another in the Wincheap area.
They found cannabis plants at various stages of growth and substances believed to be class A drugs at both locations.
The man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Sergeant John Woodward, of Canterbury Community Safety Unit, said: ‘The sale of drugs often causes more crime and anti-social behaviour that affects the community.
‘I am glad that the swift action of officers, following the finding of this bag, has resulted in the removal of more drugs and the arrest of a suspect.
‘We will keep taking action against dealers and I urge anyone with concerns about drugs in their area to report it through the Kent Police website, or by calling 999 if a crime is in progress.’
