Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a violent row in a Whitstable car park left two women injured and threatened.

The incident occurred on Monday 24 July 2023, between 8.45pm and 9.10pm, in a car park on the A2990 Thanet Way near the Borstal Hill roundabout. According to police, a group of people who knew each other were involved in a dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Two women were reportedly assaulted and verbally abused by a man and a woman from the group. Police arrived at the scene and arrested a 39-year-old man from Dover and a 35-year-old woman from Canterbury on suspicion of assault and affray. They were released on bail until 13 October while the investigation continues.

Police have thanked the witnesses who provided information at the scene and are urging anyone else who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to them, to contact them as soon as possible.
