As part of the Safer Summer campaign, police officers in Tunbridge Wells have arrested a man who is accused of being a drug dealer linked to a county line and seized a knife from his car.

The incident happened on Tuesday 25 July 2023, when the officers were patrolling Harmony Street, Rusthall, and noticed a car with an out-of-county registration parked in an odd location.

They walked up to the car and questioned the driver, who aroused their suspicion of being involved in drug trafficking. They then searched the car and found a lock knife, 23 packets of cocaine, a mobile phone and some cash. The driver was arrested and taken to a police station.

The man, of no fixed address was charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of a lock knife in a public place.

The 28-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 28 July, where he was detained until his next court appearance at Maidstone Crown Court on 25 August.
