Police have seized a car and reported six drivers following a call to nuisance vehicles between Sandwich and Dover.

On the evening of Sunday 30 August 2023, officers were called to a report of vehicles ‘drifting’ on the A256 near Tilmanstone.

A number of cars were stopped and one was found to have previously been issued with a Section 59 warning concerning driving in an anti-social manner.

That vehicle was seized under the terms of the order and six other drivers were issued with traffic offence reports; five for number plate violations and another for driving otherwise than in accordance of a licence.

Inspector Paul Barrell, of Dover Community Safety Unit, said: ‘By driving in an anti-social manner, these motorists are putting their own lives and the lives of other road users at risk.

‘We will continue to monitor this road, and others in the district, and use every option open to us to bring these drivers to justice and seize their vehicles.’

Encouraging road safety and tackling anti-social behaviour are two of the main goals of Kent Police’s Safer Summer campaign. For more details, click here.
