Following an arrest on the same day of a burglary in a Canterbury village, police have made second arrest in connection with the incident in Boughton-under-Blean.

It was in the early hours of Wednesday 2 August, Kent Police was called to a break-in at a property in The Street. It was reported a quantity of cigarettes had been stolen before the offenders left the scene in a vehicle.

Enquiries were completed by officers from the Kent Crime Squad, including the examination of CCTV footage in the area. Later on Wednesday a 43-year-old man was arrested and charged.

On the evening of Friday 4 August 2023 a 48-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
