A man has been charged with drug offences after police found more than 30 wraps of cocaine and some cannabis in his car in Tunbridge Wells.
The officers were patrolling the area of Southborough on Thursday afternoon, when they spotted an Audi A1 driving into a dead end in Norton Road. They suspected the driver was involved in drug dealing and stopped the vehicle.
A search of the car revealed 37 cocaine deals and a quantity of cannabis hidden in a roof cavity and a door pocket.
The 36-year-old driver no fixed address, was arrested and taken to custody. He was later charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
The man appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday and was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
The arrest was made by constables from Kent Police’s Proactive Targeting Team, which is dedicated to disrupting and deterring organised crime groups and drug networks across the county.
