Folkestone hosts tribute to Ukraine’s struggle

The installation in Bouverie Place Photo: Ray Duff

By Ray Duff – In a shopping centre in the heart of Folkestone stands a tribute to a distant land where people fight for freedom and for peace and seek refuge from oppression and war.

The installation is a work of art and love by Dan Barton and Peter Naylor, who care about the plight of Ukraine and its people and want to show them that they’re not alone.

The artwork has been travelling across the UK to places like Salisbury, Oxford and Brighton raising awareness and solidarity, and inspiring hope and action.

The tribute will soon reach Dover, and then it’s hoped it will cross the English Channel to Brussels where it will stand outside the EU headquarters.
