Fire engulfs five cars in Herne Bay street

A dramatic scene unfolded in Central Parade, Herne Bay, on Saturday night as a fire broke out in a parked car and quickly spread to four others.

Firefighters rushed to the scene just after 8 pm and battled the blaze with hose reel jets. The fire was extinguished after about half an hour, but not before it caused extensive damage to the vehicles.

The fire service said no one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
