Detectives have arrested a man following a reported sexual assault in Strood. The incident happened in a public car park at the rear of Strood Sports Centre, between 10.10pm and 11.50pm on Saturday 19 August 2023.
A teenage girl was standing in Witham Way, when a man she did not know spoke to her.
It is alleged he then took her to the parking area near Humber Crescent where he sexually assaulted her.
On Monday 21 August a man in his 20s from Rochester was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.
Investigators are continuing to urge witnesses or anybody with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to call the appeal line. Anyone with information should call 01634 792209, quoting reference 20-1298.
