A suspect has been charged with multiple counts of shoplifting following an investigation by police in Canterbury.

The 38-year-old man from Canterbury faces nine counts of theft relating to meat, alcohol and electrical goods stolen from stores in Canterbury and Herne Bay between 14 August and 17 September 2023.

Canterbury’s Victim Based Crime Team also charged him with possession of cocaine and possession of cannabis on 21 September, and driving without a licence and driving without insurance, relating to offences on 5 July.

The accused is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 22 September.
