A suspected thief has been charged in relation to shoplifting reports in Ashford.

Following an investigation by the Ashford Victim Based Crime Team, James Highwood, 35, of no fixed address, was charged on Tuesday 10 October with stealing alcohol from a commercial premises in Rutherford Road on 31 August.

He was also charged with stealing goods to the value of £334 from a commercial premises in the Ashford Outlet on 14 September; and goods worth £444 from the same business on 16 September.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11 October.
