Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Canterbury are appealing to find a key witness.

At around 7pm on Thursday 5 October 2023, a boy was walking along the footpath which runs under Kingsmead Road when he was approached by two other teenage boys, one of whom had a black and green bike.

They assaulted the victim and attempted to steal his wallet, before a passer-by on an e-scooter stopped and the two suspects fled empty-handed.

The victim needed hospital treatment for his injuries and detectives are investigating the incident as an attempted robbery.

They have so far been unable to identify or speak to the passer-by on the e-scooter who may have key information for the investigation.

The e-scooter rider, or anyone else who can assist enquiries, is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/178694/23.

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or complete their online form.
