The death of Michal Brom, a Czech national, is not being treated as suspicious, however officers have now released his image as part of enquiries to identity anyone who may have seen him in the days before he died.

Kent Police was called at 2.45pm on 4 September 2023, to an initial report a body had been seen in water, in an area connected to the London Golf Club, in Ash.

Officers and ambulance crews attended the location, which was close to a public footpath, and Michal, 34, was confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Detective Sergeant Graham Norman said: ‘It remains unclear why Michal was in such a remote area. We know he had only recently entered the UK in July of this year, but we have yet to establish how or why he had travelled to Ash, or how he entered the lake where his life sadly ended.

‘We are hoping someone might recognise Michal, who may perhaps have seen him walking in areas close to where his body was found. We would also like to speak to anyone who had contact with Michal prior to his death and who has yet to speak to police. Your information could help provide answers and some closure to Michal’s family.’

If you have information which may assist investigating officers contact Kent Police on 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/159023/23.
