An investigation has commenced following a report a property in the Luton Road area had been targeted by a number of men, in the early hours of Friday 8 September 2023.

It was alleged some of the intruders were in possession of bladed weapons and one victim suffered a cut to his lip when he was assaulted.

Two watches and mobile phones were stolen during the incident.

Arrests

On Monday 16 October, a man was arrested by detectives from the Kent Crime Squad and taken into custody.

On the following day, a man from Maidstone was charged with aggravated burglary.

The 21-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 14 November.

More suspects

Three other suspects were previously arrested and charged with the same offence. A man aged 19, from Bexleyheath, and a 20-year old man from Chatham were both detained at their home address on Thursday 21 September.

Another man aged 35, from Chatham was taken into custody four days later. All three are remanded to a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday 23 October.
