Four men have been charged with burglary after police were called to an incident in Folkestone town centre.

Kent Police was initially called to a report that a man had fallen from a building in Guildhall Street at 5.35am on Friday 20 October 2023.

Officers attended and the man was arrested and taken to hospital.

Further enquiries at the scene led to five more men being arrested on suspicion of various offences and the discovery of a cannabis cultivation.

Four men who live outside the county have since been charged with burglary.

They appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 October and the case was adjourned to Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 27 November.

A 34-year-old man from east London who was arrested in Shellons Street, Folkestone on suspicion of driving and drugs offences has been released on bail as part of the same investigation.

A 28-year-old man from Folkestone who was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis remains in police custody and enquiries into the site are ongoing.
