Investigators have charged two men following a report a woman was robbed in Chatham.
On Tuesday 31 October 2023, the victim was walking along New Road towards Rochester, when two men approached her from behind.
It is alleged the woman was then assaulted and her handbag stolen. Bank cards that had been in the bag were then reportedly used to make fraudulent purchases at local shops later the same day.
Officers from the Kent Crime Squad commenced an investigation including the examination of CCTV footage in the area. Two men were arrested on the following day. Officers also recovered suspected stolen cash and a bank card.

The suspects, both aged 23, have been remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 2 November.
