Kent Police was called at 1.30am on Sunday 5 November 2023, to the Social Chill Bar in Week Street where it is alleged a man was punched by a person who had been holding a glass or a bottle.
The victim fell to the floor was then repeatedly kicked.
A suspect has since been charged following allegations of a violent assault with a glass in Maidstone.
Police were called and arrested the suspect near Broadway. The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries. He has since been discharged.
A man aged 34, of no fixed address, was later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 November and has since been remanded in custody to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 4 December.
