A man who allegedly assaulted three police officers with an axe in a public street has been charged and remanded in custody.
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon in Dartford High Street, where a man was involved in a violent altercation with another person.
When the police arrived at the scene, they searched the man and found an axe in his possession. The man then attacked the officers, injuring three of them. He was arrested and taken to the police station.
The suspect, identified as a 33-year-old man from Northfleet, faces charges of affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker. He is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday 21 November.
