A modular short-stay accommodation scheme for homeless people in Ashford reaches the factory production line.

The ambitious scheme to create high quality short-stay accommodation apartments for homeless people on the former Henwood car park in Ashford is about to reach a landmark stage, with the modular homes about to take shape on the factory production line in Peterborough.

Ashford Borough Council’s Cabinet was given an update last week (Thurs 30 Nov) on what will be the first ‘net zero carbon in operation’ council homes. Members were reminded that this is the first-of-its-kind modular development in the borough. It will be built on a steel podium, with all necessary safety features and flood risk mitigation measures adopted.
