Investigators have arrested a suspected dealer and seized a machete in Maidstone.

On Tuesday 28 November 2023, officers were on patrol in Eccleston Road when they spotted a car they suspected was involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

The vehicle was subsequently located parked and unattended. The officers detained a man on foot for a search and seized two mobile phones before arresting him.

The car was also searched and the constables recovered a machete, cocaine and some cannabis. Quantities of cocaine, ketamine and MDMA were subsequently located at a storage unit.

A man from the town was later charged by investigators from Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team, with five counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, two counts of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of a bladed article in a public place and disqualified driving.

The 30-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 1 December.
