The Folkestone Air Display, a spectacular event that has delighted millions of spectators, will not be taking off in 2024.

The legendary Red Arrows RAF display team that has amazed UK audiences with their aerial acrobatics, are already booked up and won’t be able to grace Folkestone’s skies in August.

Folkestone & Hythe District Council, which hosts the air display, has decided to call off the event rather than risk disappointing the crowds and wasting money on a less impressive show.

Council leader Cllr Jim Martin said:

“We regret this decision, as we know how much the air display is cherished by our residents, visitors and local businesses.

“The Red Arrows are the highlight and the heart of the air display, and without them we felt that the event would lack its magic and allure, and attract fewer visitors to enjoy our wonderful district.

“We are facing a challenging financial year ahead, so we will be using the money that was reserved for the air display in other ways to support events in our district that will benefit our businesses and the local economy.”
