Four men have been bailed after they were arrested by police following a burglary at a solar farm in Faversham.

The suspects were stopped in two stolen vehicles in Maidstone at around 3.30pm on Monday 11 December 2023, shortly after the break-in was reported.

The vehicles and other items, including eight solar batteries and a portable heater, had been taken from the solar farm in Staple Street over the weekend.

Employees discovered the theft when they came to work at around 6.30am on Monday and searched the site.

The arrested men are aged 19, 35, 43 and 53 and are from Ashford and Tunbridge Wells. They were held on suspicion of burglary and theft, and one of them was also suspected of having a knife in public.

They will remain on bail until Sunday 10 March 2024, while the investigation continues.
