Redevelopment plans for 135 homes on the remainder of the former Buckland paper mill site in Dover have been approved by Dover District Council.

New riverside homes at Buckland Mill approved by DDC

The plans were submitted by Homes England, the government’s housing accelerator, and involve creating a sustainable new riverside neighbourhood on the 2.3ha brownfield site.

Under the proposals, the River Dour will be fully opened and revitalised, with the introduction of riverbanks, new habitats and the creation of riverside walks and a pedestrian footbridge.

Phase one of the regeneration has already taken place and has seen the historic mill building retained with loft-style homes and commercial space.
